In states that have legalized same-sex marriage, a same-sex marriage can be held in any of the usual venues that marriages are held, except that houses of worship are not required to permit same-sex weddings if they are doctrinally opposed to them. However, catering halls, hotels and other businesses that are not houses of worship are prohibited from discriminating against same-sex couples.
