If your iPod is less than one year old (from original date of purchase), you can purchase what is called the "AppleCare Protection Plan" for your iPod directly from Apple (either online or in one of their retail stores), which will extend warranty coverage to two years from the original date of purchase. Some retailers offer their own warranty coverage for electronic devices, so if your iPod was purchased from a 'big-box' retailer like Best Buy, Wal-Mart, or Target, you may also want to check with them to see what sort of coverage (if any) they offer.
