Where can i get a queen ant for an ant farm?

You can't, sadly its against federal law.

They do not sell Queen ants however as they state this is unecological.

You can get them through selling websites, or, if you can't be bothered, you can look for some youself. Young soon-to-be queens fly everywhere during late spring and summer for their mating. After, they have mated, they will fly down and shed their wings. Catch those.

Either dig up a entire colony, and sift trough it with a spoon in a bucket until you find her, or a easier way is to look under a rock or log. I just found one under a rock with larvae everywhere.

You dig into the bottom of the hole but it takes a long long time.

So you just wait until the mating or flight season.

You can find the queen outside the house at morning,evening.

Don't try at night, those are night queen ant , they don't good at hunt and they are enemies of ants.

Try morning and evening , they really like to find some male ant to mate.

DON'T do anything to the queen when she wan't to take some dead ants, they just need ants friend or EAT THEM DEAD.

Depending on where you live, you should be able to find ants at a specific time of the year, when the young queens fly. If your farm is big enough, or if you built a custom one from an aquarium, then a full sized colony can be supported.
