One power connector is for the SATA power cable and the other is for the standard power cable. Use one or the other depending on what power connectors you have available in your system but not both.
SATA, or Serial ATA cables don't really use pins, they're more a slide contact but they are still referred to as pins. There are also 2 types of SATA cables, one for the Power and one for the Data. The data cable is a 7 pin and the power is 15 pin. Here's a URL to a site that shows the SATA power pinout. See related link for more information.
In a laptop, there is a kind of SATA cable called the Slimline connector which both carries information for the drive but also has a pin in it that carries current for power. In desktop PCs, there are two SATA cables: one for data and one for power. So, technically, the answer is "SATA" for both.
SATA (Serial ATA) drives are normal drives that use the SATA interface when connecting to a PC. A SATA cable is used to bridge the gap between the drive and the computers motherboard and a separate cable is used to provide power to the drive.USB, in a similar way to SATA, refers to an interface. It is possible to use a USB cable to connect a SATA drive to a USB port but only if you use an appropriate SATA-USB adapter. Most, if not all, external hard-drive kits, which may be sold as 'USB hard-drives', will contain a SATA drive inside a drive caddy with a USB cable connecting it to the PC. The caddy will already have the SATA-USB adapter built into it, negating the need to go and buy one yourself. Please don't try and wedge a USB cable straight into the back of a SATA drive as it will no doubt cause damage.
Someone can purchase a SATA hard drive from a number of companies such as Amazon. Amazon has a large selection of SATA hard drives from a number of manufacturers.
Western digital needs to have no jumper to be by itself on a cable, or bios sometimes shares the sata as ide0 and so change your sata port and enable one as ide and the other channel as sata.
Each cable is designed to support exactly one drive.
Check the motherboard. You can connect two drives to a single parallel cable. Most traditional motherboards have two IDE sockets and you can run a maximum of four drives. (one cable per socket, two drives per cable) but you need to configure the drives with jumpers as "primary" and "slave". Many of the newer motherboards have a "SATA" (Serial ATA) socket or some combination of SATA and IDE but you'd have to use a SATA drive with a SATA cable to use the SATA socket.
The hard drive, obviously needs power. If the drive is out of the PC complete, then one way to make it work, is to simply hook the drive up on a molex / sata power lead, together with the ide or sata lead. Turn the power on, and check the drive is spinning. the other way, is to purchase a ide - usb cable. (Presuming the drive in question is a ide drive). This comes with its own power lead. Hope this helps Be safe
No disadvantage one disadvantage is that you can't use it in an IDE only box. --- Sata drives can be used in an IDE only computer using a cheap sata to IDE reversible interface. IDE<>SATA SATA<>IDE Another disadvantage is that serial devices driven at high speed can be subject to interferrance if the cable length is too long. This is not unique to SATA (IDE suffers from this too) But until an alternative system such as Fibre optics cable is introduced it will limit lead length. ---
If it's a SATA connector, in one of the SATA ports. If it's a ribbon cable (commonly called IDE cable, but that's incorrect), into the IDE connector on the Motherboard. (that's properly named)
There are only a few places that one can purchase a power cord for the Xbox 360 online. One such vendor is Amazon. A power cord can also be bought directly from Microsoft.
