This is the "AA" driving company but it includes free breakdown cover and roadside assistance.
If you're driving a car, then you'd just need to have company specific training on their policies and needs. If you're driving larger trucks and other big equipment, you'd need a CDL.
Depends on which class of CDL you're applying for. In all cases, you'll have to take a series of written tests at the DMV - general knowledge, air brakes (if applicable), combination vehicles (for a Class A CDL), etc. At that point, you'll get a learner's permit. If you're going for a Class B or C CDL, and have a company which is helping you acquire it, and will provide a test vehicle, you'll do your Pre-Trip Inspection and road test in that vehicle to get your CDL. If you're going for a Class A CDL to drive tractor-trailers, you really need to attend a truck driving school. Several companies offer in-house driving school and training, such as Swift Transportation, Central Freight/Central Refrigerated, Schneider National, Werner Enterprises, C.R. England, US Xpress Enterprises, PAM Transport, Knight Transportation/Knight Refrigerated, etc.

Without question, it's Stevens Transport. However, I believe their hiring area is limited to the western United States, but I could be wrong about that. Crete/Schaffer also maintains a pretty good reputation. TMC has a reputation as being a good company for those interested in getting into flatbeds - I would be a bit skeptical about driving for TMC, personally - word on the grapevine is that the company is not in a very good way right now. I would recommend you avoid Swift Transportation, Central and Central Refrigerated, C.R. England, and Roehl Transport.
Transportation broker training is definitely "good" and beneficial! It is a must have skill if you pursue a career in driving and transportation such as taxi driving and bus driving.
Either find employment with a company which will do your CDL training in-house, or go to a truck driving school. There are several private truck driving schools, and many community colleges have CDL driving courses.
Pretty easy, actually. So long as you can graduate from a CDL driving school, there are companies out there which hire new graduates... Swift Transportation, Werner Enterprises, Roehl Transportation, Schneider National, Knight's Transportation/Knight's Refrigerated, Central Freight, Central Refrigerated, C.R. England, etc., etc.. The downside is, these are often referred to as 'coolie carrier' companies (although Schneider actually does get some decent feedback). You'll have to get a year under your belt before you're able to move on to higher paying jobs, local jobs, etc. You'll undergo a training period with a driver trainer once you start - you don't just go solo straight away. It may be between one and two months, depending on the company.
Drivers Ed is a nationwide scheme in the United States that delivers training in driving skills for any type of driver, whether learner, improver or those who have committed driving offences.
