The saddle has two chinches (chincha). Everything, stirrups, rope, and even the leather part of the saddle is attached to and covered by the main chinch. The main chinch goes over the leather part of the saddle and all other structural parts. Unlike American saddles, there is no wood or "tree" in the seat of the saddle... just really stiff leather. The leather part has some raised areas in the front and back which would correspond to the pommel (front) and cantle (rear) of the western saddle.... but these were much smaller and made from rocks, covered in rawhide then stitched to the leather. So its leather tubes ;-) I got this from yahoo.answers.com. It is overall a much better site. I am soxroxyursox on Howrse
The army saddle bags have a slit or slot on either side. This slot fits over a raised metal bar anchored to the back of the Mcclellan saddle by two screws. A small leather strap slips under each metal bar to keep the saddle bags anchored to the saddle.
Saddle shoes are available for purchase in many different locations. One of the best resources for saddle shoes is Payless. Their saddle shoes are only available online, but if you purchase online you have the option of free shipping to a store. The saddle shoes available at Payless are lower in price than any other saddle shoes I have found aside from places like ebay or amazon, which may not have all of the sizes needed in stock.

Well, it depends. Has it been broken in and is confident with a saddle on its back or has it never had a saddle on its back? Because if it is inexperienced with a saddle I doubt it will let you, but every horse is different.
A saddle back reef, otherwise known as a saddle reef, is a mineral vein in the shape of an inverted saddle.
There are several different straps on a sidesaddle. An English sidesaddle generally has a girth and possibly a breast collar. There is one stirrup leather. A western sidesaddle usually has a front and back girth/cinch, possibly a breast collar, and a single stirrup leather. Other straps might be attached to the saddle for other purposes, but those are the main attachments.
