Where can we see signs of people living the Beatitudes today?

Few people stop to consider, think or care... that the so-called "beatitudes" are Jesus' description of the "ATTITUDE" or the "Righteouscharacter traits" of a CHILD OF GOD: that is - a person to whom God has given His HOLY SPIRIT to TEACH and GUIDE him throughout his life. once converted, in both thought [spirit] and action [or works].

The "signs" of such people who are "BLESSED BY GOD" are displayed in the "attitudes" they convey in public. They are attitudes quite the opposite of the direction this "thin-skinned" society is going; so unforgiving of others, and seemingly so intolerant of anyone who has an opinion differing from their own. They are displayed in the words and actions of those who OBEY GOD'S COMMANDMENTS, which pleases God.

"God blesses those who REALIZE THEIR NEED FOR HIM." (Matt.5:3 NLT New Living Translation)

Have you seen anyone around who confesses that they "need God?" If you have, such a person is living the beatitudes.

Have you seen anyone around who is "mourning" [verse - 4] -- people who "sigh and cry for all the abominations [morally disgusting, abhorrent things] that be done..." [Ezek.9:4] throughout our cities and the world? Mourning... crying and sighing over the horrors in the world because no one has any love and respect for anyone other than themselves? If you have, these people are living the beatitudes.

Have you seen anyone who is "gentle and lowly" [Matt.5:5 NLT] -- that is; HUMBLE? You don't see a whole lot of that these days.

Anyone who is "hungry and thirsty for God's Justice" [verse 6]?

Anyone who is "merciful" [verse 7] -- forgiving of others?

Anyone who "works for Peace, for THEY WILL BE CALLED THE CHILDREN OF GOD" [verse 9]?

Have you seen any people "...who are persecuted BECAUSE THEY LIVE FOR GOD..." [verse 10] - you don't have to watch the daily news very long today to see that. If you see that "sign"... you're seeing someone living the beatitudes.

The Children of God have the "indwelling of His Holy Spirit" working within them: teaching them and guiding them through life's experiences in thought and action. This is what to look for:

"...when the Holy Spirit controls [unfortunate NLTtranslation: should be GUIDES or LEADS] our lives, it will PRODUCE THIS KIND OF FRUIT IN US: LOVE, JOY, PEACE, PATIENCE, KINDNESS, GOODNESS, FAITHFULNESS, GENTLENESS, and SELF-CONTROL. Here there is NO CONFLICT WITH THE LAW." (Gal.5:22 NLT)

Same verse [KJV]" "...the fruit of the Spirit is LOVE, JOY, PEACE, LONGSUFFERING, GENTLENESS, GOODNESS, FAITH, MEEKNESS, TEMPERANCE: against such there is no law."

It's not that God has "done away with His Commandments" as so many denominations of modern professing Christianity believe and teach. It means that THERE'S NO LAW AGAINST OBEYING THE LAW! [just like there's no law against stopping at a stop sign when you're driving a car] There's no law against loving one another... except for the selfishness and rebelliousness of human nature. It's Love and Respect for one another that is the essence of God's Commandments [there's no law against not murdering someone. if you don't steal from someone, God is pleased with you. If you don't lie to people; it's okay].

If you see people recognizing God's Authority and Power in their lives [their thoughts and actions]... you're seeing the "sign."

If you witness joyful, loving people at peace with one another... people who are good, faithful, humble, and patient with one another; and who demonstrate self-control: you're seeing the signs of living the beatitudes.
