Things have moved on since Baird's time. His system was a world first and it was the first operational television, demonstrated in 1925, put into commercial service in 1929 and was the BBC's chosen system for 7 years. Unfortunately, broadcasts were very limited, a "Televisor" television was very expensive (around £5000 / $8000 today) so there were very few of them.

In 1936, the BBC moved to a new system and made the few hundred Televisors that had been sold completely redundant. The bulky sets had no operational future and most were no more than scrap to be taken away. There are a handful of original components around but the chances of obtaining a fully working system are likely to be very remote.

A good starting point might be to contact the Narrow Bandwidth Television Association, a group who have an interest in the origins of television and the restoration of early equipment. Their web site is below as a related link.
