At the time that I am typing this answer, and as far as I know, there is not yet a real way to obtain Genesect. It can not be found through normal gameplay, only through an event. No event for Genesect has happened in the USA yet, so it is not yet possible to obtain Genesect other than cheating. It is true the only way is cheating the possible term is action replay
