If the radio/cd head is not working discs may be jammed in the magazine. Remove magazine and make sure all discs are inside. I had to take apart the 10 disc changer to remove two discs which were both 'loaded'. Be carful of the little 'shock absorbers' in there, they can rupture easily.

In your center counsole, open it up and there is a black rectangle slide, slide that back and there it is, push the eject button and out pops your 6 disc CD changer.

Genuine Mercedes-Benz® CD Magazine (Holds 6) is about 55 to 65 dollars. You might be able to find them cheaper online.
First of all, check with your school to make sure a CD magazine is allowed. Then, determine the various topics you would like to cover in your magazine. Do research on the topics, do interviews, take photos, then write the articles. Once the articles have been written and edited, then determine a layout for your magazine. Once the layout is the way you want it, then save the magazine to the CD.
The amp is under the CD player in the truck. About 4 screws to remove the Cd magazine, then the amp is under the frame. Not hard to do.. but hard to find a replacement.
Further info: Premium sound system with 10CD changer in trunk. I have replaced the changer with a used replacement. The symptom is the same. However, the replacement unit does cycle when the magazine is inserted.MaybeIt is entirely possible that if you are using CD's that you burned yourself they will not read. I have an older CD player and it wont accept anything but original CD's purchased from a store, when i burn one it wont read it. And definitely make sure that they are CD music format and not mp3 or wmv Check thisThe face plate for the stereo is removable. Thru time & use the wear out. Check with local junk yards for a parts car & if youre lucky you find one with the correct stereo in it. Get all the parts ( or entire car ) if possiable. They are becoming very hard to find!!
The Original Ford Expedition 6 Disc CD changer with Magazine. Goes install inside the center console. Between the two front seats.
The fuse on the unit is blowen. The problem is its internel soldered on a ckt board. If your handy its not a hard fix.
According to the 2001 Lincoln LS Owner Guide : The CD changer is located in the glove compartment
Definitely should be able to find the disk magazine - try eBay or local auto salvage yards.
