the state were you would find the city in louisville
The best thing about the Galt House Hotel is the location. During our stay we really enjoyed the beautiful views of the Ohio river. They are some of the best that you can find from a hotel in Louisville. The river and the view of the city really is breathtaking. It was worth staying here once to see such an amazing view. The next best thing about the Galt House Hotel is that it is in an excellent location. It is smack dab in the middle of downtown Louisville. Step out of the hotel and you are right where you want to be. We found it really easy to walk to restaurants and bars. It was really nice to be able to go out and drink and not have to worry about who was driving home. We knew we could easily walk or take a very cheap cab ride right back to Galt House. The third best thing about the Galt House Hotel was the staff. Everyone we met was really nice and friendly. They made sure to say hello when you walked by, and they were very informed about what to do around the hotel and were happy to share that information with you. The best reasons to stay in the Galt House Hotel is for the view, location and friendly staff. The hotel itself is not that impressive. It is really outdated. All the decorations inside of the rooms make you feel like you are stepping into a 1980s' time bubble. Even the comforters on the bed feel like they are ordered from a retro store. We felt like our room smelt a little old and dank. It did not smell like mold or anything, so we stayed and appreciated the hotel for what it was. However, it did not feel nice and fresh. A large part of that may have to do with the fact that the windows were sealed shut. I really don't like when hotel windows are sealed shut. It makes me feel like I could not get out if there was a fire, and it makes the room feel really stuff. The hotel bar was just as interesting as the rooms. It also had a really outdated look and feel, although the drinks were not bad. Not worth the price we paid for the room, but we tried to look at the upside during our stay.
