Caliber means the diameter of the bullet. A .40 caliber cartridge has a bullet that is .40 inches in diameter. A 9mm cartridge has a bullet that is 9 millimeters in diameter. Yup...reminds me of Joe the Human Cannonball at the circus...Poor Joe died but they couldn't find a replacement of his caliber.
the bigger the animal the bigger the caliber of rifle and the heavier the bullet i.e deer 150 grain bullet 243 caliber and up moose 30-06 180 grain and up for both
find a bullet of the same caliber. shoot the person that made the hole. remove bullet from person. use bullet to plug hole in car
9 millimeter is the caliber. IMPROVING ANSWER: A "9mm" bullet is actually .355 or .356 of an inch in diameter. So the caliber is about .36, but nobody calls it that because it would be confusing. Everybody calls it a 9mm and if somebody asks you what "caliber" that pistol is, you can answer "It's a 9mm" without having to add or explain anything. further improve: 9mm is the correct answer. you can find the caliber by measuring the diameter of the bullet. translate to millimeters or inches and that's the caliber. 9mm is a 9mm caliber not "around .36"
Do you mean the entire cartridge or just the piece of lead? The entire cartridge is 55 millimeters long. I can't find anything at the moment that gives the length of just the bullet.
I havenever heard of a .54 cal but no, a bullet that will not stay in place for the striking pin will not fire, DO NOT TRY IT, if by some off chance that the striking pin hits the firing cap then the bullet has already started its trajectory at an angle and will probably damage the gun and yourself, it will be hard to find but you may be able to find a a saboe for that caliber, but you may just want to go buy some .54 cal ammo...
It depends on what kind you're referring to. It can range from a few cents for a .22 (although, it's unlikely that you will find single bullets for sale anywhere) up to several dollars for a large caliber bullet.
that all depends on the bullet & distance of the shot. small to midrange caliber LEAD bullet can be stopped by 1/4 inch steel (or thinner) from SHORT distance. 2. But if you find such a metal, the tank makers would like to know.
The caliber is defined as the diameter of the projectile that a certain firearm fires.A good example is the 308 Winchester. This is a rifle that fires a .308in.diameter bullet thru the barrel of this firearm. Most firearms fire a projectile that is under a 1/2in.in diameter projectile. They range in size from .223 to .452"in.I hope that you find this informative.
LR stands for Long Rifle which means the pistol uses a .22LR caliber bullet
"My pistol is .40 caliber." "We were fortunate to find a manager of his caliber."
