On Mac, you can find the default screen recording tool in QuickTime Player in the applications folder. Although its a free tool, it falls well short of what you expect from a capable software like a paid tool.
Alternatively, you can make use of third-party screen recorders like ScreenRec. Just like QuickTime Player, ScreenRec is also entirely free but offers far more than the default application, like free cloud storage and continuous screen recording in HD quality.
