It depends on what make and model the mower is. Generally, most consumer mowers use the same key which is available at hardware stores. If it is a Craftsman you can get it at Sears.
If you do not have a key the coil is not going to spark.

you may have just sheard the flywheel key , need to remove flywheel and replace key
