Where can you find a map of Colonial North Carolina?
To the south of South Carolina would have been southern Georgia and Spanish Florida. However, the legal division between Georgia and Florida was highly disputed during Colonial times. According to the date of the map, you could find either Georgia (English Colony) or Florida (under Spanish control).
If you look at a map of the US and find the Atlantic Ocean, go down south. South Carolina is the 3rd state up from the tip of the US. If you can locate Savannah, GA at the uppermost coastal tip of Georgia, and Myrtle Beach at the uppoermost coastal top of South Carolina, Charleston will be in the middle. The co-ordinates are 32degrees, 47'00"North and 79degrees, 56'00"West.
