You can try catching a Clefairy or a Clefa on Mt. Coronet (sometimes when you catch a Clefairy or a Clefa, they hold a moon stone) or you can use your explorer kit to go underground and dig for one. (For a fact, it's kinda hard finding a moon stone underground, almost as hard as it is finding a fossil. The most common thing you can find underground are spheres, I got a bunch of spheres, but don't worry, spheres can help you buy traps and other rare items.)
