Ranger was a trade name sold by Montgomery Wards. The Model 5000 was made by J. Stevens Arms from 1931-1941.

Mark This would be a Stevens 311 made in the 1920's. That one offered on Gunbroker.com must be gold plated or be new with the original cardboard box and hang tags from the store because these regularly sell for $150-$250.
It's a Stevens manufactured for Montgomery Wards. Model 5000 was introduced in 1926 and manufactured into the 1930's when it was re-designated Model 5100 and around 1940 became the Model 311.
