From what i have found on my 1929 model A the chassis number is located top of the chassis rail under the cowl on the left hand side. On the 1929 there is a removable inspection plate on the floor frame just behind the brace that comes down from the firewall. The 1928 does not have this inspection plate, i have been told that some 1928 have no chassis number.
1) Slide thefront right seat back fully.... 2) Lift plastic cover.... 3) Chassis number will be stamped on a metal plate.... Dr. Fish
Look through front bumper bar, it is through there (just pass the number plate)
There is a Chassis Plate on the kicker panel, passenger side. Generally its painted, but look for two ribbet screws that holds it on place.
Short answer is no. The VIN number is usually on a small plate attached to main chassis, often on the side of the bike. The Chassis number is usually found stamped/etched into the chassis on or around the steering pipe (the forward most point of the actual chassis frame). This can be hard to see but it should be there. The Engine number is often found stamped/etched into the top of the bottom end of the engine, Sometimes near the oil cap.
It's under the footboard on the left side of the bike. It is the VIN plate. The number starts with ME4JF11A......
Open the front boot. Look at side which would have the number plate on the other side. there should be a small shiny metal plate. this has your chassis and engine type/number on it.u
