you shall find it underneath the engine
It is located on the driver's side to the left of the brake pedal on the firewall.
On the front passenger seat, down where your right foot would be when sitting, you'll see an access panel on the plastic kick panel. Pull the panel off and the fuse box will be right there.
No the 65 cj5doesn't a fuse box. But under the dash just to the right of center on the firewall there is a fuse bar . My 65 has a fuse bar that only has four fuses , but below this bar is a wire connector bar that has a double row of screws ten on top and ten directly below the top row that is it. I would assume that it would depending on what type of accessories your jeep came with on how long or big the fuse buss and wire connector bar is.
This worked for me. Locate the fuse block, mine is in the glove box. Locate fuse number 65 and pull it. If the internal wire is severed, replace that fuse with one of the same amperage.
Don't know '63 but know '65 well. In XP it is connected to the headlight switch. You have to put one hand behind dash to find. There is a button on the passenger side of the fuse box behind the h'light switch. Press that in and pull h'light stalk completely out/off. Then you have to hold the fuse box and unscrew the headlight bezel. Fuse Box is then yours to play with. Once you've done what you have to do, screw bezel back on, but be sure that box is aligned properly with notch in dash (should be on driver side of hole in dash). If you don't, electrics won't work properly and h'light stalk will not lock/stay in.
