To get paintings you must win the master rank contests and you also have to impress the painter (by winning and doing very good) once that happens the painter will show you a picture of your Pokemon and will ask if he should put it in the museum always say YES he will leave then come back and give you a Ribbon to your Pokemon for becoming a "super sketch model".
