Shirts of a lighter shade like white would go well. Even green matches up provided the color of the shirt is lighter in shade than the denim.
The green plant would still appear green because it would reflect green light from the source. The red pot would not affect the color of the plant under the green light as long as there is no substantial absorption or interference of the green light from the source.

No, a wet shirt is not better than no shirt in the cold. A wet shirt can make you even colder and even sick.
