Large hobby stores that specialize primarily in R/C (Radio Controlled) model airplanes and model ships (boats) carry high grade aircraft plywood. The aircraft grade wood will have a barcode sticker on it that states "aircraft grade plywood"; and is the same type of wood used for building model ships/boats (decks/frames/keel).

Aircraft can be made of almost anything. The first ones were only wood and cloth.

Depends on the aircraft. Could be aluminum, wood, fabric, or fiberglass.

It depends on the general construction of the aircraft. Commonly used material are: aluminum, wood, cloth, and fiberglass. BTW, what are slats??
Wood and canvas mostly, although plywood was also often used.
The Spruce Goose was the biggest aircraft ever made, made with completely wood.
It depends how old you mean. The first aircraft were almost all spruce wood and fabric covering. Later aircraft were aluminium frame but still with fabric covering.
The Mosquito was a WW2, twin-engine aircraft built by DeHaviland. It was very light as it was made of wood and fabric but looked like a modern aircraft. It was used as a recon aircraft and could drop a few bombs. It was faster than most German fighters and could out run them.
* Most of the current fleet of aircraft is composed primarily of aluminum. * In the early days aircraft were made from canvas stretched over a wooden frame & then painted. * Some new aircraft are made of fiberglass or carbon composites. * Some small aircraft are composed of an aluminum frame with mylar stretched over in the same way wood and canvas was used.
