Yes, sometimes. The heat tends to make the paint flake off. Type of steel does not matter.

While hand stripping is an option to remove the old paint of your car, it can be a very long drawn out process. An easier way is Media Blasting. A common misconception is that Media Blasting is similar to Sandblasting. However, there is a huge difference between the two. Media Blasting became popular due to the need to find an alternative to Sandblasting (which damages surfaces and flat metal sheets). Thus Media Blasting is not so abrasive and is also environmentally friendly. For these reasons, Media Blasting is a far better for getting a new paint job for a car. There are several forms of media blasting to choose from - walnut shells, plastic beads, baking soda etc. You need to start off with a rough material in order to remove most of the paint. Rough media includes sand and walnut shells. However, you could also choose soft media such the baking soda and plastic beads, as soft media does not do any damage to sheet metal surface. Dry ice is also used in media blasting as it doesn't leave any residue. Media Blasting is can be useful for removing paint and retaining the smooth surface of the car, and for removing rust and other items from sensitive surfaces.
Were blasting off again!

Paint? No. Primer? YES. Corrugated steel is galvanized so you will need an etching galvanized metal primer. Regular paint or primer will peel off in no time! The etching primer as you can guess by the name actually reacts with the steel for a better bond. The steel should be sandblasted beforehand, or al least pressure washed thoroughly. The paint will adhere to the primer. Go to any real paint store (not a big box store with a paint department), let them know what you want to do and they will be glad to help and answer any questions.
Yes that is how road marking are placed on roads.
I use mineral spirits for gunsmithing- especially airguns. It gets all the garbage factory grease off parts really well. Supposedly charcoal lighter fluid is Mineral Spirits with an odor added. In a pinch you can use it to start charcoal grill. Does not flash like gasoline, although care and good ventilation is always necessary.

To clean paint off aluminum windows using steel wool, first, ensure the surface is wet to prevent scratching. Use fine-grade steel wool (0000 is ideal) and gently rub the paint spots, applying light pressure while keeping the surface lubricated with water or a mild detergent solution. After removing the paint, rinse the area thoroughly and dry it to prevent water spots. Always test a small, inconspicuous area first to ensure there is no damage to the aluminum finish.
