The serial number isn't 5100. That's the model, made in the 1930's. Find a local gunsmith in the yellow pages, or search at a gunshow. A 'smith may be able to remove the dent, but either repair or replacement will cost as much as the gun will be worth when fixed.

A replacement barrel for a J. Stevens Arms C20-A shotgun can be found at a local gun/firearms store. If the replacement barrel is not available on site, ask if the store can order it for you.
Generally, no. Barrel sets are individually fitted to the frame and will not just drop on. sales@countrygunsmith.net
I'm not sure of the value of your shotgun. I have a Montgomery Wards Hercules, double barrel shotgun, with external hammers. With all the research I have done it is a Stevens 217. I have been looking for a set of barrels for this gun. Can you describe your gun to me. Petter
It depends on the Manufacturer, model, and series. I don't see why you couldn't change the barrel size if you find the barrels the same as the 20 inch models. A gunsmith should verify that the headspace is correct with the replacement barrel. The barrel length isn't the concern - it is the fit at the breech that might be off. If there is too much clearance between the end of the barrel and the standing breech, you might be unpleasantly suprised.
i have an old 12 gauge double from j Stevens a & t company and it is hand stamped 33 on the barrels receiver and the brace underneath barrels and we dated it back to 1880's
not with more than one gauge in one gun, but yes they make 12,16,20,28 gauge shotguns.
The Stevens double barrel shotgun is worth $350 to $450 dollars. The value is determined by the gun's mechanical condition.
That is a Stevens double. Pull straight down on the forend to separate it from the barrel set. Then open the barrels and remove them down and forward. Far as you need to go.
They probably denote what choke the barrel has.
Pull down on forearm. It should come off. Then break open shotgun, barrels should hinge off.
The Stevens model 311 was discontinued in the year 1989.You would have to contact Savage/Stevens to get the actual age of your double barrel shotgun.
