Free Anti virus programs right now are AVG,AVAST,Antivir
In my opinion and based on my experience in using different antivirus, AVG antivirus is the best free anti-virus that works great. I have been using it for almost a year now, but I have not had any issue with it. You can download AVG antivirus, at no cost, from its developer website or CNET.
The most cost effective antivirus would be one of the free ones. AVG Anti-Virus Free Avast! Free Antivirus Microsoft Security Essentials Comodo Antivirus Avira AntiVir Personal Panda Cloud Antivirus Immunet Protect FREE digital-defender Antivirus PC Tools AntiVirus Free
The price various from software to software but most cost around 30 to 50 a year for the protection of three computers. Some anti virus software is a suite or a very large fully featured software. Suites are big and take up memory but they have a lot of useful tools. The best ones that I have seen are AVG 8, Trend Micro Internet Security 14 or 17 and Windows Live Onecare. AVG offers a free ($0) version of their anti-virus software. I have it running on several machines and have found it to be entirely adequate. You can install it as an interim measure until you decide to drop the money to buy an anti-virus suite.
One can download AVG security software from the official AVG website by simply clicking on the 'Buy Now' or 'Free Trial' links. One can also download it from 'Cnet'.
Yes there is, usually look around cnet search for "AVG antivirus free". it does a pretty reasonable job. Avast Free is by far the best Antivirus Software or Internet Security out there. Now I have AVG, the paid version though; when I tried the free version of AVG I had all kinds of problems with my PC and by no means was going to purchase the full version. However my younger brother who has his own computer company told me the paid version of AVG beats all. I've had it on my PC's and laptops for 5 years now and not a single problem. My Fiance' however uses the free version of Avast on her PC and laptop as told by my brother and she too has no problems.
You can download several different virus programs off the internet. I use AVG Free edition. I have used it for over a year now with no problems. I downloaded it from filehippo.com. I will include the link to their virus download page below. They have several options.Windows XP has a firewall built in. Go to your start bar, control panel, and click on security center. The option to turn it on will be there.Answer:I used almost a year Comodo Internet Security and I was satisfied with it. It is free and includes a firewall, an antivirus scanner and a malware detection engine.
No!!!!! Allways get the latest! I recommend right now avg free 8.5 Up to date is the best!
I have tried AVG Free and Avast. Both of them work very well. Right now I'm using Windows Defender from Microsoft. AVG's website is Grisoft.com, Avast is at Avast.com and Microsoft.com is where you find Windows Defender.
A free? May be you could use AVG for free. Buy I highly recommend you buy a cheap software, for example: Kaspersky Internet Security 2009 http://downallsoftware.com/detail-key-7.html Norton 360 3.0 Version http://downallsoftware.com/detail-key-6.html Its the best Antivirus overall. I have had it on my computer for about two years now and I have never had a virus that Avast could not remove
The best free AVG programme now available is AVG Anti-Virus Free edition 2011. However, it is necessary to remain up to date by checking latest version at avg.com
