You really don't need to hide during a solar storm, as long as you are on the Earth. The Earth's atmosphere provides plenty of protection. For sensitive electronic devices, you might wish to unplug them and disconnect antenna wires.

If you were in a spacecraft, you would want to go into the most sheltered part of the spaceship, to get some protection from the increased radiation.
