Colt marketed pump and semiautomatic shotguns made for them by other manufacturers in the 1960's and 1970's. They are relatively scarce, but still do not have much of a collector interest. I have a 12 ga 3" Mag Duck Gun...Colt..made by Franchi...fully engraved receiver, excellent condition. Contact davids@riverglen.net
Yes
Rifle or shotgun? What type of action; bolt, pump, semiauto, lever? What caliber or gauge?
Impossible to provide any information unless you provide a detailed description of ALL markings. Also, what is it? Rifle, revolver, pistol, shotgun; bolt, semiauto, pump?
They did not make one. If you contact us with all of the stamped markings on your shotgun we can properly identify it for you and help with the value. www.countrygunsmith.net I was about to disagree with CountryGunsmith, but then I saw the word "pump". Colt did make a 16 gauge model 1839 revolving percussion shotgun and if the poster should happen to have one, I'd like to talk him out of it. There is a Colt 16 Ga. pump shot gun listed on gunbroker.com. Going for around $250,apparently made in France, and around 2,000 made in 12, 16, & 20 gauges.
I'd always thought the V suffix was used strictly on 12ga guns. Is this gun a pump (Model 870) or a semiauto (Model 1100)? sales@countrygunsmith.net
There are many companies and websites that offer pump action shotguns for sale. Some of these companies that offer pump action shotguns are Scheels and Remington.
You have to state whether it is a handgun, rifle, or shotgun and then whether it is a bolt action, semi-automatic, single action, double action or pump action.
John Moses Browning invented the pump shotgun and the Colt 45 but there are many other gunmen who have invented others.
John Browning invented the pump shotgun in the year 1897.
