RPGMaker is not a free program. although, you can actually download the trial of the program which I believe will last for a month. I also recommend not insulting programs.

When i try to use the RMXP, it says that i need a higher resolution.. I use a mini pc/laptop, so is it anything i can do about it?
If you have Xp 64 then you have 2 program files folders: Program files Program files (x86). Under Xp 32 you have only one program filesfolder: Program files
If you're searching for scripts, there are a lot of forums that have literally TONS of scripts, either of XP or VX. Scripts can be located on the RPGMaker Website forum.

pokestarter is a game download for the rpgmaker xp. it lets you make your very own Pokemon game. i don't know if it works for vx yet though by the way if you have windows vista it is probably not worth all the rubbish you have to go through
Not that I'm aware of. RPGM XP and VX are based on the Ruby programming language, and my understanding is that it doesn't support Flash in any way- movies, Action Scripting, etc. This doesn't mean there aren't scripts out there to get RPGMaker to play swfs.
