You can cash in a 1964 Kennedy half dollar at a bank but they will only give you $0.50 for it. You would be far better off to sell it to a collector or a dealer. 1964 halves are made of 90% silver so they sell for around 10 times face value.
As of 01/2009, a mint-condition 1964 Kennedy half dollar retails for $7 to $8 in grades MS60 to MS63. There are however a few extremely well struck specimens that sell for much more - about $650 to $900.
Half a dollar Depends on the mint mark - if it has an "S" and is in its original packaging it might sell for a couple of dollars.
If you were going to use it to buy something, then the answer is fifty cents ($0.50). But if you were going to SELL it to someone, then that just depends on how much the buyer is willing to fork out.

Are 90% pure and sell only for their silver content regardless of condition. They are all very common even in uncirculated condition. They contain the JFK half dollar, washington quarter and roosevelt dime.
The piece is not authentic, but a coin dealer may be interested in it.
Try a coin dealer, they will likely buy it.
They sell for about $14.00 on ebay. If the coin is in exceptional condition, you could get more.
It is doubtful that you can spend it for face value in Canada because, like in the US, half-dollar coins aren't in common circulation and would most likely be rejected by the cashier. Keep in mind though that any US half dollar dated 1964 or earlier is 90% silver and any dated 1965-1970 is 40% silver and if you have one of those coins you might be able to sell it to a coin shop for a premium over face value.
Take it to your local coin dealer or try selling it on eBay.
