How did Mao Zendong's get the Communist's to seek support among the large peasant mass instead of the small urban working class?

Mao Ze Dong spread communism around China. The large peasant mass was fed up with Jiang Jie Shi (Chiang Kai Shek), as he was being greedy and unfair. Chiang Kai Shek only cared about the rich, and was biased. Mao Ze Dong offered a better alternative, and he was from the same background. He was promising and dedicated. The reason why the Communists won is because the peasant population overpowered the rich, and they were so driven. Then Chiang Kai Shek fled to Taiwan, with nowhere else to go. Chiang Kai Shek always planned to conquer mainland China again, but he never succeeded. His son was supposed to fulfill his dying wishes, but he was unable to, as well. I know all of this because I studied Chinese history.

Why did China change after World War 2?

There were two parties in China after World War 2: the Nationalists and the Communists. The Nationalists were led by Chiang Kai Shek, and the Communists were led by Mao Ze Dong. The Communists defeated the Nationalists, and Chiang Kai Shek fled to Taiwan to set up a government there. China then became Communist under the dictator Mao Ze Dong.

How did Mao fight chiang Kai-shek's larger military forces?

First off, his military strategy consisted of Guerilla Warfare. Harass the enemy constantly. They didn't have a specific base of operations that the Nationalists had to destroy. On the other hand the KMT was the government, they were obliged to hold their cites. To do this they have to maintain logistical supply lines, and reinforcments. Mao's forces, over the years whittled the KMT down by attacking these supply lines. Also civillian support. By this time, the general population was pretty fed up with Chiang Kai-Shek. Guerilla warfare needs the populace to support you in order to be succesful. Without popular support, the population won't give you the supplies, won't let you stay on their land, and won't send their people to fight for you.

Why was Mao Zedong successful in gaining power in China?

Mao Zedong came to power in China in 1949 after a bloody civil war between himself, leader of the Communist Party, and Chiang Kai-Shek, leader of the real Chinese government (the Nationalists). During WWII, Chiang Kai-Shek was preoccupied with Japanse agression and the Communist under Mao Zedong started to build up their strengh in north China. They did this by carrying out a "mass line" policy (from the masses to the masses), cutting land rents, and spreading out the lands of the wealthy landlords to peasants. As WWII started to end, the world started to see that the Communist in China were actually making some changes in China... for the BETTER and perhaps war would not break out if the USA stayed neutral. However, the inevitable did happen and by 1946 full scale war between the Nationalists and the Communists was happening. Peasants ran towards Zedong and the PLA (People's Liberation Army) for promised land and social justice while the middle class, shunned by Chiang Kai-Shek because of his governments' inability to stop economic inflation, did so too. In react to the war in China, President Truman sent General George C. Marshall (yes, the creator of the Marshall Plan) to China in hope to stop the Communist and reinstate the Nationalists. The Communist won.
