William Jefferson "Bill" Clinton was the 42nd President of the United States from 1993 to 2001.
Yes, President Bill Clinton was impeached in 1998 for lying: he said, "I did not have sexual relations with that woman, Monica Lewinsky." However, evidence proved that Clinton did have relations with Lewinsky. Clinton argued that he thought the formal definition of "sexual relations" was sexual inte…rcourse, and he did not have sexual intercourse with Lewinsky; however they engaged in oral sex on multiple occasions. Impeachment is not exactly like an ordinary civil or criminal trial. Clinton was impeached, and this means that the House of Representatives, the only group that can impeach the president , determined that Clinton's actions were worthy of some kind of sensure or punishment. But that is not where it ends. The senate then tries the president to determine the consequences, if any, that should follow the president's actions. The senate acquitted Clinton; he was not subjected to punishment. While his actions were undeniable, reprehensible and immoral, they were not actually illegal. The question was whether Clinton put the nation or the office of president at peril by his acts. The Senate decided that he did not. President Andrew Johnson was also impeached, and he too was acquitted. No president has been impeached and then found guilty by the senate. Impeachment is not the same as being found guilty. Impeachment is more like indictment. However, Richard Nixon resigned rather than be impeached and convicted. ( Full Answer )

Born: 26 October 1947 -. Birthplace: Chicago, Illinois - * . Best Known As: The former First Lady who ran for president . - Name at birth: Hillary Diane Rodham . Hillary Rodham Clinton was elected to the U.S. Senate in 2000. She is also the wife of former President Bill Clinton, …making her the first American First Lady ever elected to national office. After graduating from Wellesley College in 1969, Hillary Rodham went to Yale Law School, where she met Clinton, a fellow student. She served as a staff attorney for the Children's Defense Fund and was also on the congressional Impeachment Inquiry staff in 1974, at the tail end of Watergate scandal. Hillary married Bill Clinton and left Washington for Arkansas in 1975. She raised their daughter and practiced law during Clinton's 12 years as the state's governor. Bill Clinton was elected president in 1992 and Hillary became a somewhat controversial First Lady, weathering criticism about everything from her hairstyles to her involvement in public policy to her role in a questionable Arkansas land deal (the so-called Whitewater affair). She also endured her husband's much-publicized affair with intern Monica Lewinsky and supported him during the subsequent impeachment hearings. In 2000 the Clintons took residency in New York and Hillary was elected to the U.S. Senate, in the same year that Bush was elected to succeed her husband. She was re-elected to a second term in 2006. She ran for the Democratic nomination for president in 2008, finally conceding to fellow senator Obama after a lengthy campaign . In 2003 Clinton published a 562-page memoir, Living History , detailing her eight years in the White House... Her 1996 book It Takes a Village and Other Lessons Children Teach Us was a best-seller, though the phrase "It takes a village to raise a child" was frequently lampooned by her opponents. \ . Why is it that Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama can raise 100 million for their campaigns yet school teachers are paid so little?
First, it's worth noting that if this were true, it would be odd that the teacher unions endorse Obama for President (see Related Links for endorsements). Second, the question is an example of propaganda and spin. The same question can be asked of the other Presidential candidates. McCain has rai…sed even more and has done less for teachers. You can also ask why has President Bush spent nearly $200 billion on war while teachers receive less than Blackwater mercenaries paid with that money.. Answer . Because their party thinks its more important that they get elected.. Answer . Because Republicans like McCain have spent the money for wars, bailouts, and tax loopholes for the rich.. Answer . You need to look at it from an economical standpoint. The reason political campaigns receive so much more money is because they only happen every 4 years and have a HUGE effect (on the world ). Teachers are paid less because there are so many people who have the ability to teach if there was an urgent need.. Here is an example: The water-diamond choice Water is a life necessity, diamonds are a luxury. Diamonds, however, are much more expensive than water. You can take a cup of water away from someone and replace it, but with diamonds you can't. If you were picked with a choice of all the water in the world or diamonds, you'd obviously pick waters. It just comes down to availability. ( Full Answer )

He presided over the largest economic expansion in U.S. history. It began considerably prior to his taking office, and collapsed well before he left it. Therefore he is not regarded as the cause of the expansion, but is regarded as the reason for its destruction (the "dot-com bust"). Note: Bil…l Clinton supposedly balanced the federal budget and eliminated the federal deficit. However, it seems that creative accounting was used... for one thing, the National Debt certainly was never paid off, which means it was a case of "the budget is balanced, except that the bills aren't paid"! Astonishingly, as soon as he was out of office, the media willingness to overlook creative accounting vanished as well, and the *real* budget's economics came back. ( Full Answer )
