In Detroit, Mich. Henry Ford founded and started the Detroit Automobile Company in 1899. That company was dissolved in 1901. He then was a partner in the Henry Ford Company but left shortly after and the company was renamed Cadillac. He then teamed with Alexander Malcomson and formed the Ford & Malcomson, Ltd. Company in 1902 and in 1903 that company was reincorporated as Ford Motor Company.
