Michelangelo told Pope Julius that he had forgotten all about mural painting. So he was allowed to send for a couple of experts from Florence who (perhaps) helped Michelangelo to get started. Then he did all the painting by himself. Probably a plasterer helped him prepare the ground for each day's painting. That worker remains anonymous.
