It will depend on the state you work in. Each state has established a minimum rate for tipped servers that is substancially LESS than the minimum wage. I believe in Illinois the minimum for a tipped server is about $3.10. As a server, most of our income comes from tips, which can be $50-$100 per shi…ft (or even more on occasion.) Be aware that you ARE responsible for paying income tax on your tips. Ruth cris is a fairly expensive mid upper class restaurant so the average tip is 18%. i went there with my wife last week and spent 155.60 and left the server 35 dollars. Those servers make 600+ wk for a full time position no question. If you look around at Ruth cris you will notice all the servers are in there 40s and 50s. Alot of them are making a career of it. always depends on the price of the food and drinks.. if your a hustler you can do well as a server at a place like that. ( Full Answer )

Chris Whitten originally started this site in 2002 as "FAQ Farm: the question and answer co-op." The basic idea was the same as it is now: questions and answers are organically grown and through user interaction. The Q&A improves over time and the most popular questions in each category, the FAQs, f…loat to the top.. In 2004 we adapted Wikipedia's Mediawiki software for FAQ Farm. At that point we sometimes called the site "WikiFAQs" or "the wiki answers community" but kept the official name as FAQ Farm.. In 2006 Chris sold the site to Answers.com. During a redesign at the start of 2007 Chris and the Answers.com folks officially changed the name to WikiAnswers.. ( Full Answer )

"An extremely intense young man, McCandless had been captivated bythe writing of Leo Tolstoy. He particularly admired the fact thatthe great novelist had forsaken a life of wealth and privilege towander among the destitute. For several years he had been emulatingthe count's asceticism and moral rigo…r to a degree that astonishedand occasionally alarmed those who knew him well. When he tookleave of James Gallien, McCandless entertained no illusions that hewas trekking into Club Med; peril, adversity, and Tolstoyanrenunciation were what he was seeking. It is not known where Christopher McCandless's diary is. Chris wasa hiker whose experience inspired the movie, Into the Wild.
No one was sure exactly what he died of; it is speculated that he may have died from starvation or possibly eating something poisonous.
He ate a potato seed that was poisonous Hi! New person: according to "Into The Wild" by Jon Krakauer, hehypothesizes that it was the mold growing on the potato seeds thatkilled Chris McCandless, not the actual potatoes. Chris hadsurvived in the wild for a long amount of time and, although itwould b…e common to mistake poisonous potato seeds, had survived fora long time and so why, of all times, would he make that mistakeafter so many months? Therefore, he hypothesizes with scientificblah-blah that it was actually the mold growing on them. He also got rid of his map. When he was ready to leave he wasunable to cross the river because it was too rapid and he was a badswimmer. If he had had a map he could've seen that there weremultiple ways to get across the river as well as multiple cabinsthat stored food he may have needed when he got poisoned.. He also brought a gun that, I've been informed, was just a littlebit stronger than a bebe gun and he was pretty unprepared to hunt.He did survive off some hunting, but he was ratherinexperienced.. He also had no idea what he was doing, proven by many other peoplewho had lived in "The Bush" in Alaska and knew what it required andhe went in with the minimal equipment. When he got there, he hadplanned to go deeper and truly 'live in the wild' but found himselfincapable (because he was so incredibly unprepared) and ended upliving in a bus that was therefrom a failed building project inAlaska.. He did address in a letter that he knew this trip could be fatal, but it didn't seem to bother him and even when he was about to diehe seemed to have made his peace with it.. ( Full Answer )
