The Magna Carter or Great Charter. Though it was not signed by King John he attached his seal to it.
The Magna Carta was a Great Charter of English Personal and political liberty obtained from King John in 1215. King John signed it at Runnymede near Windsor Castle, Berkshire.
King John did not benefit from the Magna Carter because he was a very biased man and if he signed it (which he did) he had to follow the law and he had to become fair and loyal to his people. And the barons (rich people) and average people benefited from this.

yes he did because he didnt want to lose his crown so he followed everything in there. but before he was a good but unlucky king
one of king Johns failures was his weakness' for example when the barons (who were much weaker than him) forced him, under pressure, to sign the magna carter (a big book which had the law stored in it) and from then on had King John under their thumb!

King john signed the magna carta because he was unfair to the peasants and he argued with the pope
The Magna Carta or "Great Charter" limited royal power over the nobility. King John was forced to sign the Magna Carta by rebellious barons who resented his attempts to tax them. The Magna Carta guaranteed the traditional rights of the English nobility. For example, King John agreed to consult a Great Council composed of high nobles and Church officials before placing any new taxes.
