Where did meat come from in World War 1?

Well meat came from most of the dead bodies in WW1 or world war one. But soilders only ate that meat in serios cases. Most of the time the meat soilders ate was the deer that ran accross the fields late at night. Most of the time deer were or was mistaken for enemys spys crawling back to their home base. It was so misty even wild hores tangled in barbwire were mistaken for cows.
