Uniforms started in about 1961 and from than they have become extremely popular. It is very rare to find a school without uniform.
School uniforms date back to the 16th century in England, where the Christ's Hospital School in London was one of the first to introduce them in the 1550s. The concept then spread to other countries and educational institutions over time.
School uniforms are easy to find, but the important point is that you contact the school the child is attending so you know the pattern and colors they require for uniforms. Then, you can start shopping! Local stores (Target, JCPenny, Sears) often sell the local school uniforms, but you can also use online sites such as www.schooluniforms.com.

Hi, the school uniforms are statr in japan, because the civil or when they started but I have a vague idea. Apparently in those days people felt that having school uniforms would make the children feel important like they were in some vital organisation, bring some order and discipline to the school and help the school make some profit. The idea appealed to most parents who asked the boards of schools to get children to wear school uniforms and thus the idea was born. Hope this helps, wiki rox 4 lyf

Well it all depends on how or when the school uniforms are introduced. If the school uniforms start off from the get-go then I have a feeling that the reactions wouldn't be horrible. Now if the uniforms are introduced after years and years of no uniform policies and mid-school year then most likely, the reactions will be pretty bad. I only know this from experience, because at my school the teachers created a fake uniform policy (the students didn't know it was fake.) to explain how people felt before the revolutionary war. The student became tyrants, and there were actual threats and insults made to the principles. If you are a teacher, i would wait at least till next year to bring it up in your school, i hope i helped, and if you are a student i wish the best of luck with your uniforms (if that's even the case.)~Lexi
