Pomeranian breeds once were sled dogs. The origins are in the Arctice ice of Iceland and Lapland and are a genetic bond to the Alaskan Malamute' Siberian Husky; Samoyed (within the Spitz breed family.) The dogs were, of course much larger then averaging 30 - 35 pounds. Owners of these larger dogs eventually would bring them back home and the dogs ended up in an area in Germany known as Pommerania and the dogs were used to heard livestock. Eventually the down sizing of the breed started (like most breeds of today for smaller dogs.) During the 1900s the American Kennel Club gave the breed recognition and the Pom Club of America was also formed. The Pom Club of America was given membership status in the A.K.C. in 1909. Poms now weigh between 4 - 7 lbs. There are also even smaller breeds called Tiny or Teacup. Most breeders refuse to breed Poms too small because of severe medical problems and a short life span.

Well, Boston terriers and pomeranians are very active, hyper little dogs. By breeding them and mixing the genes, it would most likely make a calmer dog, but hey would still be active.
If you want a healthy dog with a healthy body plus gums & teeth, then feed a good quality dry dog food, small kibble. Never feed a cheap generic food. The small breeds seem to have more problems with their teeth so that is why I recommend a good quality dry food, plus brushing their teeth too with a doggy toothbrush & doggy toothpaste.
