Rap Music started in 1979, thanks to a woman by the name of Sylvia Robinson, who recorded the first Rap song to create what is called "Rap Music". You can credit "The Last Poets", Gil Scott Herron, Flash, Herc, Bambattaa, the Jamiacans, the grioters from Africa and everyone else they have told you whom created Hip-hop in 1973, but according to Rapologist-Critic Robert Jr. James McClendon, Rap Music did not start until "Black people" put on wax what they were doing in the clubs, house parties, and parks. They were Rapping back in the 1950's with Douglas "Jocko" Henderson, but it didn't become a "music form", once again, until Sylvia Robinson put it on the record label "Sugarhill". And don't let those so-called other "Hip-hop historians" tell you different. Black Americans created Rap Music, the movie indusrty along with the Bronx gave you all "Hip-hop".
