Olan here from Cork. Alot of the refuges from Northern Ireland went south of the border. In 1969, they were acommodated in Gormanston Co-Meath and Finner Co-Donegal. They numbered over 700. There were thousands more who stayed in private refugee centres and with relatives. Refugees came down from the North in 1970 again numbering over 1,500 in July. Theywere acommodated in Gormanston, Kilworth Co-Cork and Coolmooney Co-Wicklow. After internment in 1971 they arrived in unprecendeted numbers.. Over 6,000. They were acommodated all over the country. In 1972, 9,800 came in July and August. Olan Long 103638855@student.ucc.ie
