When the Spanish arrived the Aztecs thought they were gods. When the Spanish seemed more intrested in the gold ornaments that the Aztecs wore then in the pyramids that were build for the gods was when several Aztecs started to disaprove of Montezuma's decision of housing the Spanish.
It first started when Montezuma 2 came into power. He started to demand more tribute and sacrifices from the provinces, who naturally started to rebel.
The Aztecs started from about 1500 BC (Before Christ) and ended around 650 AD. (I can't remember what 'AD' stands for but i do know it means After Christ).
