There were atleast seven people named Judas who were mentioned in connection with Jesus, atleast four of which were disciples at one point or another:

**Judas, the son of James, (also called Thaddaeus)was probably from Galilee, since all but one of the disciples were known as Galileans ( Luke 6:16; John 14:22; Acts 1:13).

**Judas, Jesus own half brother, wrote the book of Jude, and called himself the BROTHER of James, but he and his other brothers didn't become true disciples until after the death of Jesus. (Matthew 13:55)(John 7:5 /Mark 3:21) He was probably born in Nazareth, though The Bible doesn't say.

**Judas called Barsabbas was another disciple who figured prominently in the early Christian congregation (Acts 15:22). The Bible doesn't say where he was from.

**Judas Iscariot was the son of Simon Iscariot(John 13:2)and possibly the one disciple from Judea. It is commonly believed that his name "Iscariot" means from the Judean town of Kerioth-hezron.

..other people named Judas: Man who Saul visited when blind(Acts 9:11, 17),leader of a Jewish uprising(Acts 5:37), ancestor of Jesus who lived prior to Babylonian exile (Luke 3:30, 31).
