To find the tomb of Jesus.
Unfortunately this Question incorporates a confused mix of apparently unrelated ideas that can not readily be split into separate questions. Essentially, it is asking about the supposed finding of the "true cross" of Jesus, suggests that it was found in the stable, and appears to suggest that Jesus had come back as a poor deaf mute. It is true that Constantine's mother Helena, not Constantine himself, claimed to have found the three crosses on which Jesus and the two others were crucified, neatly buried at Calvary. But this was after 320 CE, not in the year 284. Interestingly the find occurred under an important pagan temple, which had to be demolished even to locate the crosses. The local bishop was able to 'prove' which of the three crosses was that of Jesus. And so a magnificent new church was built on the former temple site.
Mary found Jesus in the temple in Jerusalem, where he was discussing theology with the teachers.
A:Mark's Gospel does not actually mention Jesus carrying his cross, although it is assumed he did at first, until Simon of Cyrene, who was passing by, was ordered to carry the cross for Jesus (Mark 15:21). This is followed by both Matthew and Luke, which are more or less directly dependent on Mark. It is in John's Gospel that we find Jesus carrying the cross all the way to the site of his crucifixion - John 19:17.
If you mean Mary, the mother of Jesus, she was a refugee because they had to flee to Egypt so that Herod would not find and kill Jesus.
Answer If the people who had this knowledge to find out the age of that wood used to make the cross at that time, they wouldn't had committed the crime of crucifixion of innocent Jesus.
St. Helen, mother of St. Constantine, is credited with locating at least these relics/holy places and perhaps more:The True CrossThe Holy Nails (three of them)The Holy Tunic (the seamless robe of Jesus)Pieces of the rope with which jesus was boundThe location of the burning bush from ExodusThe location of the Nativity which is on the Mount of OlivesThe location of the Holy Sepulcher
There are numerous churches and holy places that claim to have fragments of the original cross. A quick search will reveal many possible sites. If you go to the Holy Land, you'll find the relic of the Holy Cross being peddled in the streets. Gee, Jesus cross must be bigger than Noah's Ark...
Jesus wasn't hung. He was crucified on a cross outside of Jerusalem. He was hung in Italy.
Jesus said this as he was dying on the cross. Check Matthew, Mark, Luke, or John.
Most of the Jews did not like Jesus and were waiting to either to trap himwith theirquestions or to find a mistake in his teaching. And in the end the mob of Jews called loudly for his blood on the cross.
A:No. There was no fireball: this is just a modern attempt to find a credible explanation for the signe that Constantine said that he saw in the sky. It was only years after the Battle of the Milvian Bridge that Constantine claimed to have seen a cross in the sky. Eusebius recorded his assertion to this effect nearly a quarter of a century later, but even he believed that the emperor was not altogether telling the truth about his vision
