Henry Ford started his production of cars with letter designations after he made his first car the Quadricycle. He made two different vehicles that were called the Model A. The first one was made in 1903. He then made the second Model A in 1928. It was so different from the Model T that ended production in 1927 that he decided to start over with the letter model designation.
