The Trail of Tears is not a specific place, rather, it is the journey of those Native Americans who were forced from their homelands in the southeastern United States to Indian Territory, west of the Mississippi.
The Cherokee were removed from their homes in Georgia, Alabama, Tennessee, and North Carolina to camps in Tennessee and Alabama, and then moved on to Indian Territory in present day Oklahoma. Several different routes were used. Did this help
