The word "Logies" originated from the Logie Awards, which is an annual Australian television industry event that honors outstanding achievements in the television industry. The term "Logies" is an affectionate nickname for the awards ceremony, derived from the name of television pioneer Graham Kennedy's character, "Logie" in the 1960s.
