Hobo Spiders live in the Northern United States as well as Canada. They can be found anywhere in Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Montana, Wyoming, Utah, Colorado,and Southern British Columbia. We feel that it is likely that there are Hobos in Northern California. We have also received spider samples from the many parts of Mid-West and North Eastern USA which appear to be Hobo spiders.
Well, a spider usually lives for 2 years, and that also occurs with the Hob Spider.

I live in poteau, Oklahoma and caught a male hobo spider on Saturday April 14 2012, I didn't know at the time and released it mistaking it for a wolf spider

Males have enlarged pedipalps located near the mouth, resembling short legs (Fig. 3.). The hobo spider greatly resembles certain other members of the funnel-web spider family which are harmless or cause minor bite reactions. For this reason, identifications of suspected hobo spiders should be confirmed by an entomologist or other persons trained in spiders.
