food chains actually starts at the sun. the sun gives light to plants and they grow. herbivore or omnivoress eat these plants. carnivores or omnivores eat these plant eaters. all of this ends up with humans on top of the food chain. we eat everything and some eat us.
All food chains ultimately start with the sun as an energy source. This is often simply assumed, so can be omitted. Therefore, a plant will be the first organism in a food chain, since plants photosynthesise sunlight to produce food. As a rule of thumb, all food chains will begin with a plant that obtains energy from the sun. There are very few exceptions to this rule, such as some microorganisms which live deep in the oceans where sunlight cannot penetrate can acquire energy from sulphur compounds near geothermal ocean vents.
Food chain mainly starts from a producer which is plant. It starts from a lettuce or a leaf which is eaten by an insect and then the chain continues e.g
leaf > insect > bird > cat > eagle and so on.
An autotroph (a producer). In other words, any kind of plant
All food chains begin with a plant and ends with an animal (humans fall under animals)
Example:grass ~ grasshopper ~ toad ~ snake ~ hawk
The food chain begins with the sun
A Food Chain is formed when an animal eats an animal.

It is called a food web ... at least that's what my science professor told me. ☻☺☻☺
A food web is a model that shows how food chains overlap.
there are endless amounts of food chains in a food web.
Interconnected food chains are known as food webs. A food web consists of all the food chains in a single ecosystem. Each living thing in an ecosystem is part of multiple food chains.

A food web is formed by overlapping food chains.
Food web
Symbiotic parasitic or mutualistic
Chemical energy
food chains that overlap I think are called overlapping food chains. Food chains that overlap are called overlapping food chains.
complex feeding relationships are formed from overlapping and interconnected food chains
When all food chains in a habitat are joined together in some way, they form a food web. They are normally several food chains all joined up together which may include the same predator or prey in more than one food chain. hope this helps
They are called food chains.
food chains
Food Chains! :)

Food webs and food chains are mostly the same
