It depends on what type of frog that you want. Frogs live on every continent except Antarctica and every environment except the ocean, so chances are you'll find some wherever you are. All frogs (except those that are poisonous, you won't find those anywhere near civilization anyway) are relatively vulnerable to predation because they are soft and juicy and nutritious and they don't bite back - they rely on hiding most of the time. Look under rocks, in clumps of plants near the edge of swamps, or disguised on the underside of leaves. Moist, cool, damp areas suit frogs very nicely to hide during the day. At night, you can find frogs in summer by their calls. When in the approximate vicinity of a calling frog, have three or four people surround the frog and point their torches at the noise. Where the torch beams intersect you should find the frog.

For best results looking for common frogs in the city or town, try up drainpipes, around water features and in gardens (don't make a nuisance of yourself looking for frogs there!). In the countryside there are more frogs and more suitable environments - the edges of swampy areas are the best places to search.
