All birds have nests, ostriches and chickens too! Hawks do have nests, but they make it in high places so that other predators can't reach it.

Hawks have been known to attack people (large or small) who get too close to their nests. Hawk talons can make nasty cuts but I have never known of anyone suffering a fatal attack from a ahawk.
